Headshot Pricing
In-Studio Headshot
- $150 for first person & $75 per additional person
- - Includes up to 20 minutes per person at studio in Winthrop, MA with your choice of backdrop style and color, and three high resolution digital images per person with copyrights. Can include one outfit change per person.
On-Location Headshot
- $250 for first person & $75 per additional person
- Includes 30 minute setup at your location, with choice of backdrop style and color, up to three high resolution digital images per person with copyrights. Photographer will take between 15 to 30 photos per person and will take 8 to 20 minutes per person.
Group Portrait
- When group portraits are requested in addition to individual portraits, group portrait is $150.
- When a group portrait is requested without individual portraits, group portrait is $350 for first hour and includes CD of all the edited photos.
Tips for Getting a Great Headshot
Clothing Tips
- Avoid wearing bold or pin stripes, plaids, and busy patterns.
- Try to wear clothes that will accentuate your best features, like your skin color, eyes or hair. For example you might wear a blue blouse if you have blue eyes.
- Avoid wearing shirts that are too similar to your skin color. Contrast is preferred, so wear a darker shirt if you have light skin, and light shirt if you have darker skin.
- Feel free to bring a few options and John will help you decide.
- Avoid wearing any shirts or jackets with wrinkles, as the camera and lights pick up on that.
- Keep in mind, the picture is the main subject of the photo, so avoid any clothes or jewelry that would distract.
General Tips
- Please tell me your expectations or past experiences prior to the headshot session, so we can plan the shoot and lights accordingly.
- If you're tired during photos, it is very noticeable, so make sure to be well rested.
- Portrait sessions can be fun, especially with me, so let yourself relax and be yourself. A genuine smile or expression trumps all other facets of a headshot.
Book a Headshot Session
Portrait Process
Step 1 - Consultation Once you fill out the form below or contact John Munson, we will discuss the date, time, location, purpose of the headshot, intended look, clothes, make-up, etc..
Step 2 - Deposit To make the session official, a 33% deposit is required. Cash, check or credit card is accepted. In the event, you need to reschedule or cancel, please give 48 hour notice.
Step 3 - Portrait Session and Final Payment After the portrait session takes place, full payment is required.
Step 4 - Share Photos Unless specifically requested, most portraits require 3 to 5 days to edit. At which point, you will receive an email with a link to your online album to view all the edited photos. You can request to have the gallery password protected if you would like.
Step 5 - Select Photos Depending on the package, you may have to choose which photos you want to use.
Step 6 - Receive Digital Files or Prints Depending on your preferences, you have the ability to download the digital files directly from the online album, can receive them via email, or on a CD in the mail. You can also elect to have them printed. See print prices.
