Our Style and Promise to You

Beacon Photography understands the importance of taking great photos during your wedding day. There is so much time, energy and money devoted to this day and there is no second chance to do a re-shoot. With that said, founder and senior photographer, John Munson, invites you to consider Beacon Photography. John Munson is a talented and experienced photographer with a great personality to work with. His goal is to use his artistic eye and technical mastery to capture the beauty, emotion and essence of your wedding and who you are.

Photo Journalistic Style

Outside of the set shots you request, John Munson’s uses a photo journalistic style to visually tell the story of your day, helping to make your wedding a wonderful and lasting memory. Whenever possible, John Munson remains a quiet but observant guest, preferring to catch the natural flow of people and their candid expressions. Please review John’s portfolio, the process, the packages and the testimonials below. We are confident that we will capture your wedding in its best possible light, and deliver prints, DVDs, and albums you can be proud of forever.

Equipment and Photo Editing

All photos are taken with a professional grade digital Canon camera (either a 8 or 10 Megapixels). John uses several high end lenses including a Canon 17-85mm wide angle lens and a powerful Canon zoom lens to capture details from a distance. In addition all photos are manually corrected in a digital darkroom, optimized for proper lighting and exposure, rich color balance and natural skin tones, rich contrast, visually interesting composition, crisp sharpness, and artifact removal, such as dust, lint, or skin blemishes). All color photos can be converted into Black & White or Sepia tone.

Satisfaction Guarantee Policy

Beacon Photography provides a Satisfaction Guarantee Policy, which states that if the customer is not 100% satisfied with the prints due to an error on the part of the photographer, Beacon Photography will either digitally correct the originals and reprint them at no extra charge or will refund the cost of the prints in full. All packages come with high-resolution digital negatives on a CD.

Beacon Wedding Packages

All Beacon Photography packages include:

• John Munson as your photographer.
• Unlimited photos taken during your wedding.
• Full resolution, color corrected and enhanced digital images on CD or DVD.
• A copyright release for unlimited personal use.
• A proof book or box of all your photos.
• A private online proofing gallery.
• Travel costs are included for all weddings inside New England.

Hourly Packages

• 2 Hrs: $850 (Monday-Friday only) includes a $150 print credit.
• 3 Hrs: $1250 (Monday-Friday only) includes a $200 print credit.
• 5 Hrs: $2000 includes a $300 print credit and a free engagement session with a framed & matted signing board.
• 6 Hrs: $2400 includes a $400 print credit and a free engagement session with a framed & matted signing board.
• 7 Hrs: $2800 includes a $500 print credit and a free engagement session with a framed & matted signing board.
• 8 Hrs: $3200 includes a $800 print credit and a free engagement session with a framed & matted signing board.
• All Day: $4000 includes a $1000 print credit and a free engagement session with a framed & matted signing board.

Wedding Albums are additional. You can choose to have Beacon Photography design you an extraordinary wedding album or you can Do-It-Yourself with the digital files provided to you. Prints (Mounted or Framed)

When determining what it is that you want printed and framed, keep in mind each wedding package is entitled to a specific print credit. Prices are subject to change. Please inquire when booking services.

• DVD slideshow (upto 200 images) - $200 first copy, $50 per copy thereafter (You pick the songs)
• Screen saver with top 33 photos - $100

The Timeline

Planning and Booking with Beacon Photography

1. Meet with John Munson (either in person or over the phone).
2. Client retains wedding photography services with deposit of 33% of total and signed contract. Remaining balance is due one month prior to wedding day.
3. Client submits completed shot-list.

Pre-Wedding Photography

1. If included in package, Bride and Groom meet with John to take engagement photography, either on-location or in-studio.
2. John attends the rehearsal to review timing, lighting, location of set shots, and list of set shots.
3. If applicable, John provides framed and mounted engagement photo signing board.

Wedding Day Photography

1. John arrives as scheduled to begin journalistic coverage of your wedding day.
2. John or his assistant sets up lighting for planned shots if necessary.
3. If applicable, pre-ceremony photography begins approximately 1 hour prior to ceremony. Formal portraits proceed based on shot list and package, usually starting with Bride, then Groom, then shots of the Wedding Party and family members as requested.
4. John stops posed photography at least 1/2 hour prior to ceremony and resumes candid or journalist coverage.
5. John photographs ceremony and post-ceremony reactions of the bride and groom, the wedding party, family members and guests if possible.
6. If applicable John shoots close-ups before and after limousine ride, and during receiving line.
7. John attempts to stay close to the bride and groom throughout the day but strives to photograph everyone during the reception.

Proofs, Online Ordering, and Albums

1. Within approximately 2-3 weeks of wedding, John uploads proofs to Beacon Photography’s web site at http://beaconphotos.com.
2. John will send email notifying Bride and Groom of the Password and forwards to families and guests, if requested.
3. Bride and Groom also receive a proof box with top photos within 3-4 weeks. Quantity based on selected package. On the back of each print is a unique file name. This helps when sorting through favorites.
4. Within 3 months of receiving proofs and online album, Bride and Groom e-mail their preferences for enlargements and for the album directly to John. Bride and Groom do not order through the Web site. Delays in picking photos within 90 days may cause further delays in creating album and printing enlargements. Normally Bride and Groom receive their wedding album within one month of finalizing their favorite pictures.
5. Families and Guests can place print orders via the Web site. Online Proofs are available for 180 days. Prints are delivered within seven days of the order.

Beacon Wedding Policies

Booking a Session

To book a wedding date you must pay a 1/3 deposit and sign a wedding contract (either by fax, by e-mail or by regular mail).
Upon receipt of 1/3 payment as deposit and a signed contract, Beacon Photography and Design reserves the time and date agreed upon and will not make any conflicting reservations for this time and date. For this reason the deposit is considered liquidated damages and is non-refundable and non-transferable even if the date is changed, postponed or cancelled by the client for any reason. 1/3 payment is due at signing, the 2nd 1/3 payment 2 weeks before the wedding date, and the final 1/3 payment is due the day of the wedding. No part of any service/order will be performed/delivered until the balance is paid in full.

Copyright and Studio Uses

All negatives and digital image files remain the property of Beacon Photography. They may be used for advertising, internet and studio display or any other purpose within standard use practices. The release of the printing copyright for unlimited personal use of the full resolution negatives is made to the wedding client as part of the wedding packages, but does not imply release of any other copyrights which remain with Beacon Photography.

Online Proofing Galleries and Ordering

Online proofing galleries and ordering is a free service provided to our wedding clients, their friends and family at no additional charge.
The proofing galleries will be made available online to aid in the completion and delivery of the client’s ordered products, albums, prints, etc. They will remain online a maximum of 6 months and removed thereafter regardless whether or not the client has received all ordered product. If at that time the client requests that the proofing galleries be made available for a longer period, they will be charged is a $9.99 upload fee for every 30 day period thereafter.

Changes in Print Pricing

Periodically our labs and suppliers may change their pricing and consequently our product pricing has to change as well. In this event, the stated dollar amount of the included print credits in our wedding packages does not change regardless of an increase or decrease in our prices between the signing date and completion date a wedding contract.
