Photographer John Munson and his assistants makes the process of taking portraits fun and easy. In addition to making you at ease, Beacon Photography is confident it will deliver high quality photos of you, your family or your pets. John’s uses the best Canon equipment and techniques to ensure you get photos that are sharp in focus, rich in tones, and expressive in nature, so you can be proud to share with family, friends and or co-workers.

Satisfaction Guaranteed

Our goal is to make every customer happy. That’s how we know we’re doing a good job. After serving hundreds of customers, we’re so confident in our photos that Beacon Photography provides a Satisfaction Guarantee Policy, which states that if the customer is not satisfied with the photos due to an error on the part of the photographer, Beacon will either provide a re-shoot or replace the prints at no additional cost. Portrait Packages

• Passport – $33 – Includes a 5 minute studio photo session, and (4) wallet prints.
• Quickie – $75 – Includes 15-20 minute studio photo session, $25 print credit, and online photo album.
• Standard – $150 – Includes 45 minute photo session, $75 print credit, and online photo album.
• Classic – $250 – Includes 90 min. photo session, $100 print credit, online album & screen saver.
• Deluxe – $350 – Includes 90 min. photo session, $175 print credit, online album & screen saver.

Print Costs

• 4 wallet prints = $8
• 4 x 6 = $6 each. Frame = $15
• 5 x 7 = $10 each. Frame = $30
• 8 x 10 or 8×12 = $20 each. Frame = $55
• 11 x 14 prints = $33 each. Frame = $95
• 12 x 18 prints = $38 each. Frame = $115
• 16 x 20 prints = $50 each. Frame = $135

Terms and Conditions

• Cancellation Policy: If for whatever reason you can not make the scheduled date Beacon will work with you to reschedule the session. If you need to cancel altogether, full refunds are available if you cancel 2 days prior to scheduled date. As a last resort, Beacon Photography reserves the right to keep 50% of the portrait fee, if customer fails to reschedule or cancel 2 days prior to session.
• Additional Time: During a shoot, if additional time is requested, customer is billed $25 for every extra 15 minutes.
• Location: Portrait sessions can be held in-studio at 74 Jefferson Street in Winthrop Center, or on-location, such as on the beach, at a park, or in someone’s home. There are no travel fees for sessions within Winthrop. For other towns inside of I95 beltway around Boston a $50 travel fee applies. Outside of I95, please inquire.
• Turnaround Time: Customers can expect their portrait session photos to be posted to an online album within 3 business days of the shoot. John Munson or an assistant will send an email or call when photos are ready to be viewed, with a corresponding link to their online album.
• Privacy: By default all sessions are made public. If you would prefer to have your portrait session private, please request that it be password protected.
• Ordering Prints: Once photos have been posted to the online album, customers can order prints online right away. Prints arrive within 3-5 business days of ordering. To use the Print Credit you receive with your portrait session, enter the Coupon Code during the checkout process (Specifically the SHIPPING Method page). You receive the Coupon Code on the day of the shoot.

Portrait Tips

• Enjoy yourself! Don’t focus on looking your best too much, just be yourself and focus on the people you are with and the feelings they conjure up.
• Don’t wear anything with thin striped lines, as it can cause distortion in images.
• If you want to go outdoors, consider scheduling it within 3 hours after sunrise or 3 hours before sunset. The light is less harsh then.
• Bright sunny days are great but overcast days actually as well if not better for photos.
• Some wonderful outdoor locations in Winthrop include Coughlin Park, Deer Island, Yirrel Beach, Winthrop Beach, Fort Heath, etc.

Gift Certificates

Gift certificates can be used for portrait sessions or print credits. They are a perfect gift for the holidays. They are valid for up to seven years from the date of purchase. Upon ordering a gift certificate, a hand crafted greeting card indicating the value of the gift certificate will be either given to the purchaser or mailed to the location and person of your choice.
