Pet Portraits are a wonderful way to capture the essence of your dog, cat or other pet. John Munson, the primary pet photographer, loves animals and strives for that perfect shot of your pet during every session. His patience, gentle nature and funny sounds helps him get great results. Headshots are an industry standard used for acting auditions, modeling portfolios, corporate bios and presentations, and even dating sites. At Beacon Photography, we’ve shot dozens of high quality headshots, and we’d be happy to take yours as well. We also offer a modeling package that helps aspiring models add to their portfolio, as well as promote themselves through comp cards.

Child portraits include everything from First Communion photos to first birthday photos. If you need a patient photographer who can capture the innocence and youth of your child, Beacon Photography is the right place. My name is John Munson, and I have two young children myself, age 1 and 4 years old. I understand the fears and silliness of a child and will work hard to get the photo you are looking for.

Family portraits includes everything from multi-generational family photos, to sweetheart photos, to just siblings or grandchildren. There is no limit to how many people per family, and we’ve photographed groups as large as 12 people. So give us a call or book an appointment today. Usually the biggest challenge is scheduling the event. Plan ahead because Saturday sessions fill up fast.

Below is a slide show of some of my best aerial photographs of Winthrop. What an experience! It was definitely the most exhilarating photography assignment I’ve ever had. I was lucky enough to connect with Al Coombs, an experienced pilot and photographer. We went on a 4.5 hour flying adventure from the North Shore to the South Shore of Boston, and back. I shot a Canon 1DS Mach II with a 70-200 USM IS 2.8 lens. We shot at 200 ISO and at least 1/1000 shutter speed all day in order to make sure there the photos were superb in quality and sharpness. And they were. By looking at the photos, you’d never know we were zooming along anywhere between 40 to 110 mph high above the land. We ended up taking approximately over 2000 photos, using up more than 45 gigs of memory. And all the while, neither of us got sick. Not bad!

P.S. There are more aerial photos to follow, including some of the best lighthouse photos of Boston Light and Graves Light I’ve ever seen. Ok, I’m a little bias, but they are damn good. I promise.
